Mark Warnecke (° Bochum, the February 15th 1970) is a German swimmer , specialist in the 50 and 100 m brew.

Biography

It gains its 1st European title in 1994, in the test of the 50 m brews in small basin. At the time of its many participations in the championships of Europe, as well into small as in large basin, it was twenty-two times medal-holders (13 of gold, 6 of money and 3 of bronze) in the tests of the 50 and 100 m brew, and of the relays 4x50 and 4x100 m 4 strokes.

Its only Olympic medal, it obtains it in 1996 in Atlanta; it is of bronze in the test of the 100 m brews.

It was three times world champion of the 50 m brews, in 1995 and 2000, and small basin; it gains the 3ère title in 2005 in Montreal, and large basin, whereas it is 35 years old; thus, he is the oldest world champion of the history of swimming, since 1971.

At the 36 years age, he was German champion of the 50 m, of which he holds the national record since the May 25th 2005 with the time of 27" 44 .

He finished his sporting career, on April 15th, 2007 at the conclusion of the 119e German championships of swimming.
