The New South Wales Waratahs are a team of Rugby to XV, representing the New South Wales Rugby Union since the end of the XIXe century. This selection was always called Waratahs , of the name of the flower symbol of the state of News-Wales of the South.
Waratahs play with a blue shirt sky and a Short navy blue. Blue is associated with a long tradition of sport in Wales News of the South, and maintains an intense competition with the maroon red/the teams of the Queensland.
The team takes part in the Australian Provincial Championship.
This name was preserved when, in the years 1990, to take part in the Super 12, competition between Australian, New Zealand and South-African teams, a frankness was formed representing most of the State of Nouvelle Wales of the South (but not the Riverina nor certain zones of the south of the state which are represented by ACT Brumbies. For more details to see the geographical equivalence of the franknesses from Super the 14).
Waratahs dispute their home matches with the Aussie Stadium of Sydney.
