One of the commonplaces conveyed nowadays by the cinema is that the Middle Ages were one time of war continuous. In theory, one avoids fighting the winter and for the periods of peaces imposed by the Church (Paix of God, Truce of God). The medieval war is rather a succession of seat S that great pitched battles; it brings devastations in the campaigns and the cities, as at the times which frame the Middle Ages: massacre inhabitants of Troy, slaughters during the 16th century known as “modern”, hecatomb of the First World War. Then, the medieval armament is often regarded as monolithic: what is there however commun run between the Carolingian Brogne and the armor with plates of Jeanne d' Arc? between the Triggerfish and the Canon with powder?
