War of succession of Champagne

The origin of the conflict
In 1190, the count de Champagne Henri II left his county to leave in crusade with his/her two uncles Philippe Auguste and Richard Lion-hearted (his/her mother is indeed girl of Louis VII of France and Aliénor of Aquitaine, therefore sister of Philippe by its father and Richard by its mother). It made swear with the barons de Champagne to pay homage to his brother Thibaut if it died during the crusade.In Holy Land, Henri was crowned king de Jérusalem and to sit its legitimacy, married the queen Isabelle, widow of Conrad de Montferrat its second husband, but its first husband, from which it had been forced to separate, always lived.
Henri II died in 1197, after having had three girls, and his/her brother became the count Thibaut III of Champagne. This last died in 1201, leaving its widow Blanche of Navarre, enclosure of a posthumous son, Thibaut IV.
In 1215, Filipino of Champagne, the third girl of Henri II, married noble Champagne alive out of Holy Land, Erard de Brienne, lord of Ramerupt, cousin of Jean de Brienne, king de Jérusalem. This last was at the head put to claim the Comté of Champagne.
The conflict
Erard and Filipino unloads in France with the beginning of the year 1216. Of passage to the Puy-en-Velay, Erard is put in arrest by the agent of the king de France, but manages to escape and goes out of Champagne. It been necessary for the intervention of the king de France Philippe II Auguste, of the duke of Burgundy Eudes III and of the emperor Frederic II, to bring back Champagne peace. Frederic II invades the Lorraine, takes and sets fire to Nancy in 1218, made captive the duke of Lorraine, and obliges it to withdraw its supports towards Erard de Brienne.
Erard renonça with Champagne the November 2nd 1221 and Filipino in April 1222.
