The June 18th 1812, the the United States sign a declaration of war and enter one second time in war against the British Empire while trying to invade its North-American colonies. This war is known under the name of war of 1812 or sometimes called war américano-British to differentiate it from the war of invasion of the Russia by Napoleon Bonaparte the same year.
It is caused to a large extent by the British policy of pressure (the catch of force of American sailors for the military service in the Royal Navy) and the blockade of French ports in which the Americans wished to make trade. Although the British had the top in the majority of engagements, the majority of the battles form now part of the American myth - including the Bataille of New-Orleans, in which the general Andrew Jackson inflicted to the British one more severe defeats of their history. Ironically, the battle was carried out two weeks after the conclusion of the Traité of Ghent, which finished the hostilities, and restored the conditions of pre-war period.
The war of 1812 finds its origins in the commercial tensions which existed between the United States young people and the United Kingdom. As of 1803, the American trade undergoes the consequences of a Blocus British and French. Jefferson reacts by imposing a Embargo act into 1807 which has negative consequences. In 1809, France agrees to recognize the American house at sea but the British always oppose it.
