War Child

War Child is the eighth album of the British group of progressive Rock Jethro Tull. It left in October 1974.

Composed at the origin to accompany a film which forever found financing on behalf of the large movie studios, it was envisaged to make a Double album of it. Because of this failure, it had to be rearranged in a simple album of ten titles.

The film was to be a comedy with the black Humor with like main character a teenager finding himself in beyond opposite God, holy Pierre and Lucifer represented in skilful business men. War Child was to be choreography by Margot Fonteyn while John Cleese of the Monty Python was to be the Consultant in humor.

Certain pieces intended to accompany film (like Four-bit byte or War Child Waltz ) were redécouverts and are present on the box 20 Years off Jethro Tull of 1988 like on several compilations and the republication of 2002 of CD of War Child .

Three songs ( Solitary Only , Bungle In the Jungle and Skating Away One The Thin Ice Of has New Day ) were put on side during the phase of writing of 1972-1973. One finds them on the following album, Thick ace has Brick . Two Fingers is a rearrangement of Lick Your Fingers Clean , a piece which had not been retained on the preceding album of the group, Aqualung .

The photographs of the back of the small pocket represent the five members of Jethro Tull and their entourage (friends, boyfriends, employed Chrysalis, their manager Terry Ellis, etc) disguised as characters related to the topics of the songs.
