  • Third war of Macedonia (fine in -168). Rome, with the call of Pergame engages the war against Persée of Macedonia. The Greek cities, retained by fear and the interest, do not move. Persée, remained only, holds head without weakening during more than four years.

The Middle East

  • Civil war between Jason and Ménélas, appointed large priest of Jerusalem in its place: benefitting from a mission with Antioche, Ménélas, brother of Simon, the provost of the temple, the pontifical nomination “ is made grant by offering 300 talents moreover ” that Jason which takes refuge in Amman itide. The lawsuit is carried in front of Antiochos IV, then with Tyr. Supported by the governor of Cœlé-Syria, Ménélas carries it and the three deputy the Council of Old are put at death.
