Wangchuk Dorje
The 9th Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje (1556 - 1603)
One intended it to recite will mantras in the belly of his mother. There remained sitted legs crossed during three days, shortly after its birth and declared that he was Karmapa.
He was quickly recognized by the Taï Sitou Rinpoché, which resided in a sufficiently close place, and by Shamar Rinpoché, one year later, which sat it on the throne at the six years age.
Most of its life occurred in an itinerant monastic camp in which a strict stress was laid on the practice of the meditation.
Its itinerant group accepted invitations to visit many places.
They could not visit the China but they went on important journeys in Mongolia and to Bhutan. The 9th Karmapa gave many lesson in the south of the Tibet and restored monasteries and temples everywhere where it went.
It also accepted an invitation to be gone to the Sikkim. Incompetent to go there in person, it sent an older representative who establishes three monasteries there.
Karmapa blesses them and devoted them since the Tibet. One of them was Rumtek, the current seat of Karmapas in India.
The 9th Karmapa composed of the texts like " Mahamoudra, Ocean of the significance certaine" and " will mahamoudra, dispersing the darkness of the ignorance" who had an significant impact on the teaching of the Mahamoudra. This Karmapa and the three following played all the part of peacemakers for the period of political disturbances during the period when they lived.
