Wang Hui (1632 - 1717) was a Chinese painter of the beginning of the dynasty of the Qing belonging to the orthodoxe school landscape. It belongs to the group called four Wang . He studied besides painting near Wang Shimin, as well as Zhang Ke.

He was born with Changshu in the Jiangsu, in a family of artists. Its first professor was Zhang Ke, which explains the influence that the work of Huang Gongwang had on Wang Hui.

He made the meeting of Wang Jian in 1651, which presented Wang Shimin to him, which was then its professor.

He took as a starting point style of the schools Yuan and Song.

At the time of a voyage of the Kangxi emperor in the south of China of 1691 with 1698, it required of him to paint a series of rollers on this voyage. In addition to the 12 works created on this occasion, that was in fact the occasion for Wang Hui to become the painter of the court.

With the XXe century, its work was criticized by Chen Duxiu but inspired Li Keran.
