The waltz is a Danse and a Musique (generally to three time), in which the couple moves on the track while rotating. The basic figure comprises a turn in six times, with three steps per measurement.
Some suppose that the waltz finds its origin in the Volte , dance of ball at three times applied to the 16th century. Although the techniques differ considerably, it acts many the first two types of dance in brought closer position which were the subject of a precise formalization.
However, it is much more probable than it is a transformation of the German of the 18th century.
In the contests, the Viennese waltz currently obeys two standards:
; The slow or English waltz Form waltz appeared in same time as the Viennese waltz at the beginning of the 19th century. This waltz was danced yet only over two times and was only one simple evolution of the traditional Viennese waltz over three times, replacing the second time by a pause. This way of dancing the waltz extended after the Second world war thanks to a new generation which sought a way stylized and natural to dance the waltz.
; The waltz haversack Dance of ball appeared in France at the end of the 19th century, followed little by the java, which is close for him. These two dances are faster than the “traditional” waltz.
; The waltz tango Dance Argentinian which is danced in three times, on music which is also called waltz tango or valleys (which is written without E final in Spanish).
; Other forms of waltz The traditional music and the dance also propose waltz more complex than the waltz at 3 times, called “asymmetrical waltz”, in general to 5,8 or 11 times.
Additional times with the step of waltz are danced by marking a support alternated on each leg, thus exerting light thorough which accentuates the revolving movement.
