Walther G43

Semi-automatic rifle Walther G43 (Gewehr 43=Fusil 1943), produced by the company Walther, was used by the Wehrmacht at the time of the Second world war (primarily on the Face of the East).

History

It was elaborate starting from the G41 (W) by the firm Walther. It comprises mounting-was out of wood (near to that of the Karabiner 98k) largely releasing the end of the gun confined in 8 mm Mauser.

In addition to its relative lightness, G43 (called K43 then) differs from its predecessor by the adoption of the system of loan of gases of rifle Soviet SVT38/40 and by the replacement of the store by a charger (the two weapons having a capacity of 10 cartridges.
