Walter Trampler
Walter Trampler (born the August 25th 1915 and dead the September 27th 1997) was a virtuoso of the viola and Viola d'amore.
Born with Munich, it started to study the music at the six years age under the control of his father, a violonist. In its youth, he traversed Europe as altist of the Quatuor Strub. Later, it will become first viola of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. In 1939, it emigrates in the United States where it is useful in the American army during the Second world war. Then, it turns over to the musical life. It is one of the founding members of the Chamber Music Society off Lincoln Center.
It is known for its love of the music, of the baroque to that of the XXe century (Luciano Berio dedicated one of its works to him). It carried out many recordings. In addition to its many concerts in Europe and in the United States, he taught with the Juilliard School, with the New England Conservatory, the Yale School off Music, and with the Université of Boston.
