Places and monuments

The current village of Mure seems to date primarily from XVIIIe and 19th centuries. A main street crosses the village, marked at its two ends, like all the villages of the valley, by a vault, dedicated to St Joseph, and a cross which symbolize the entry in the borough and places it under divine protection. Along this Main street extend the noble houses from the village, remarkable by their height, their sometimes curved bays, their historiés lintels. One in the center of the street is known as " the château" . The other streets, parallel with the axis prinicipal carry the street name of August and street of the Medium. The communication between these axes is ensured by typical calades in staircases.

The parish church under the term of Notre Dame de Vauvert is located at the end of the village. Its lintel dated 1700 seems to indicate the date of construction. It adopts a plan with a nave finished by a flat bedside, on which two lower side chapels open which make be connected the general form in a plan centered in Greek cross. The current place which opens in front of the church was created at the 20th century on the primitive site of the cimetierre. Adjacent the farm known as " clastre" is brought closer to the religious origin of the seigniory of the village. Perhaps the proximity with the parish church indicates the primitive site of a priory at this end of the village.

The vault St Joseph at the other end of the village is the goal of a procession once the year for the employers' festival of August 15th. The interior shows at least two construction campaigns, without it being possible for me to specify anything on this subject.
