The Walloon Gouvernement is the executive power of the Walloon region. It is composed of a maximum of 8 ministers and a Minister-president. It takes stopped and sanctions the decrees voted by the Walloon Parlement. Its seat is the Élysette, residence official of the President of Wallonia.

7th Government (2004-2009)

After the legislative elections of June 13rd, 2004, the socialist party (34 seats) and the Humanistic Democratic Center (14 seats) formed the 7th Walloon Government.

  • In October 2005, Elio Di Rupo becomes minister-president, to replace Jean-Claude Van Cauwenberghe. Jean-Claude Marcourt in addition obtained the Foreign trade following this rehandling.
  • the government is deeply altered in July 2007:
    • Rudy Demotte replaces Elio di Rupo with the presidency of the Area, after the re-election of this one with the head of the PS.
    • Jean-Claude Marcourt obtains the Inheritance, responsibility before allocate to Michel Daerden.
    • Paul Magnette enters to the government, recovering the old wallet of Christiane Vienna (outgoing since the federal elections of June 2007).
    • Another new arrival, Marc Tarabella is named with the ministry for the Training to replace Marie Arena
