Wallers-in-Fagne

Wallers-in-Fagne , in the past Wallers-Trélon , is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Name
Called still recently Wallers-Trélon (in reference to the commune of Trélon which is bordering for him and to distinguish it from the commune of Wallers located in the same department), the common one was renamed in Wallers-in-Fagne by a decree of the ministry for the Interior of the August 10th 2007 published with the official journal the August 14th according to.
Geography
Located on the periclinal termination of the calcareous structure which constitutes the Belgian Calestienne, Wallers-in-Fagne has outcrop of level givétien from where is extracted a blue limestone, known as wrongly “blue marble”.
This blue limestone constitutes a typical element in the local architecture of the houses of Thiérache of North (Avesnois), the Fagne, and part of the Ardennes, Chimay to Givet.
