Walk Samuel-With Champlain
The Promenade Samuel-In Champlain is located in the town of Quebec. It gives its name thanks to the founder of Quebec Samuel de Champlain. It is the gift of the Quebec to its Capital-Main road for its 400e birthday in 2008.
It is located on the banks of the Bank-North of the Fleuve the St. Lawrence. It starts with the bridges of Quebec and Pierre-Laporte and finishes with the Bassin Brown, where there too, one refits the park, by the Gouvernement of Canada, until the Baie of Beauport.
The Champlain boulevard which crosses the walk will be composed of several stations sets of themes such as the stations of the Sports, Cageux and the Quays.
History
1980-1999
The current place of the Walk was the place of several oil tanks, but at the end of the years 1980, the oil companies decided to dismantle their installations.In 1997, the Gouvernement of Quebec decides to create a commission, that is to say the Commission of the national capital of Quebec (CCNQ), and as of its first moments, it already thought of refitting this site with the agreement of the town of Quebec and the old towns of Holy-Foy and Sillery, which became both the third district of the town of Quebec, called the district of Holy-Foy--Sillery.
In 1999, the town of Quebec and old towns of Holy-Foy and Sillery, the Ministry for Transport of Quebec and old Urban community of Quebec, become the the metropolitan Community of Quebec, sign a protocol of agreement to link their forces to give a vision common to the Champlain boulevard.
2000-2008
The steps were started with the government of the Québécois Party, directed by Lucien Bouchard, in March 2000, by the request for a feasibility study.
In September 2000, one asks for the development of a concept by the Chaire in landscape and environment of the University of Montreal.
In May 2005, with the Museum of civilization, the liberal government directed by Jean Charest, announces that the project will be carried out at the cost of 40 million Canadian dollars via the Commission of the Capital-Main road.
Then, it is in spring 2006 that began work of the Walk Samuel-With Champlain.
It is in 2008, during the festivities, that the Walk will be inaugurated and thus will become the second larger city park of Quebec. The refitting will have finally took surroundings two years.
One thinks already has to include a line of Tramway, which would leave the Old man-Quebec, towards the town of Lévis, on the Bank-South of the river, passing by the Walk and the bridges to go to the center of purchase of the Chagnon Galleries, which is to some extent the terminus of urban buses of Lévis.

Station of the Quays
The station of the Quays makes two kilometers and half. It is the pole cultural of the walk. One finds there family gatherings, artistic events, sensory experiments as well as official unveilings.
