Walden Bello
Walden Bello (born in 1945) is a committed writer Filipino. Political analyst, he is also professor of Sociologie and public administration at the University of the Filipino , like executive director of the network Focus one the Global South , organization altermondialist.
Born with Manila, he becomes activist following the declaration of the martial law promulgated by Ferdinand Marcos on September 21st 1972.
In 2003, it receives the Right Livelihood Award , known in French under the name of “alternate Nobel Prize” for its writings and analyzes concerning the Asian situation. The site of Right Livelihood Award describes it like one of the leaders of the critic of the current model of the economic globalisation, combining the intellectual and the activist.
Bello is also member of the Transnational Institute , (based in Amsterdam), administrator of Greenpeace (Southeast Asia Bureau).
