Wakouwa
The Wakouwa is a Jouet in Bois articulated created by Switzerland Walther Kourt Walss, whose initial ones constitute its name.
It is composed of two parts. A base containing a pushbutton with a spring and a figurine which désarticule with the ryhtme of the pressures on the base. You can thus animate the figurine and give him life, make him shake the head, lay down it, it raise of only one blow, etc
Walther Kourt Walss created the first wakouwas as of 1932. It sent some in England to one of his friends who held a shop of toys. With the second world war, the exchanges stopped. They have seems it only begun again starting from 1945.
Walther Kourt Walss also created other plays of which a kind of Jeu of the goose. (See photo to follow)
The figurines of Wakouwas generally represent animals and characters, sometimes of the objects, flowers, constructions or all other creatures.
They are practically all of wood but certain plastic models exist. Wood are painted and varnished but very seldom natural (except some characteristic Austrian models with their square base)
