Synopsis

With La Rochelle, a small journalist of province, ambitious and cynical, Jean de Charvin, marries Isabelle Lindstrom, girl of Franck Lindstrom, rich ship-owner who repudiates this marriage. Lindstrom disinherits his/her daughter. Living meanly, Jean, having learned that his father-in-law gave Isabelle on his cardiac will and knowing it, kills it, without the touch, by frightening him. The nurse, Angele Ribot, witness of the crime, become her mistress. Seriously wounded in an accident of car, Isabelle refuses with her husband, who tries to kill her to enjoy his fortune more freely. Small good is the innocent victim of the machination. Isabelle surprises a stormy explanation between Angèle and Jean and includes/understands all. She forgives, but her husband, to end, devotes himself to the police force.
