Wabi-sabi

The wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a Japanese expression indicating a concept Esthétique or Spirituel, derived from Buddhist principles Zen and Taoïste S. the wabi-sabi connects two principles:

  • wabi : loneliness, simplicity, melancholy, nature, sadness, dissymmetry…
  • sabi : deterioration by time, the decrepitude of the growing old things. Regarded as a positive principle, the sabi is rather foreign with the Western thought. Taste for the aged things, stain… etc
