Waarde

Waarde is a village of the commune Dutchwoman of Reimerswaal in Zealand. The village counts: 1166 inhabitants (2006).

The village is strongly protesting. At the time of the municipal elections of 2006, SGP obtained 48,1% of the voices and the Christian union 5,6%. The majority belongs to the local Gereformeerde Gemeente . Moreover, a great part is member of the local Protestantse Kerk in Nederland .

Waarde is located on the the Western Scheldt. There are many grounds extended around Waarde: the village always was agricultural. Many inhabitants still live of the fruit-bearing Arboriculture: the apples and the pears inter alia are cultivated much. It is remarkable that many inhabitants are contractors.

Many people come in the area to make bicycle, to walk or fish.

Waarde counts two elementary schools: the Christian school Of N Akker , which celebrated in 2005 its 75 years of existence, and the public school Of N Bogerd . The two schools are next to and use the same playground. The village counts a small football club and tennis, but it lost these last years the agency of the Rabobank, the post office and some stores. The inhabitants must go to the village close to Krabbendijke. The local line of bus towards Krabbendijke and Kruiningen was saved because a great number of users borrow it.
