WWF WrestleMania (video game)
WWF WrestleMania is a Video game of wrestling developed by Rare and published by Acclaim left on the Nintendo Entertainment System (BORN) in 1989 with the the United States and in 1990 in Europe. It is a question of the very first video game of Catch on console to exploit an official license World Wrestling Federation (WWF, today WWE).
With the U.S.A, the play had left at the same period as WrestleMania III, moreover, one can find the slogan " of it; Bigger, Badder, Better " on the screen video game titrates.
WWF WrestleMania proved to be disappointing, even for the limited technological means of the time, especially if one compared it with Pro Wrestling, who although not putting in scene superstars wrestling existing, wanted to be more beaucous amusing and better carried out.
The play was composed of a roster of six all-in wrestlers:
- Hulk Hogan
- Andre The Giant
- '' Macho Man '' Randy Savage
- The Honky Tonk Man ()
- Bam Bam Bigelow
- Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase ()
The catches and the blows were limited: punch, kick, projection and blow of elbow, this last being used to defend oneself when one made back with the adversary (except Bam Bam Bigelow which made the wheel in the place give a blow of elbow)
The modes of play were reduced:
- Exhibition : Consisted in choosing an all-in wrestler to be controlled like another to face. This mode could only be played (an all-in wrestler controlled by the player and the other by the computer) or two (each one controlling an all-in wrestler).
- Challenge : Being played only in " mode; a joueur" , this mode was summarized to choose one of the six all-in wrestlers, then to face the five others. If the player arrived at the end of the series of the five all-in wrestlers, he became world champion of the WWF and the belt appeared on the screen.
To final, WWF WrestleMania presented one particularly short lifespan, since even more the beginner of the players could arrive at the end of the play in less than two hours.
Also let us note that the action proceeded in a boxing ring seen of " 3/4" (only three sides were thus visible with the screen) and " flottant" on a black screen without any other decoration.
