WWF SmackDown!

WWF SmackDown! ( Exciting Pro Wrestling with the Japan) is a Video game of Catch left on PlayStation by THQ and developed by YUKE' S Future Media Creators. It makes party of the series of the WWF SmackDown! based on the federation of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). This play was succeeded by WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role .

SmackDown! was the first play of the WWF on PlayStation to being published by THQ, which took the place of the former editor Acclaim.

Gameplay

The most significant change that people found with this play compared to its predecessor of Acclaim, WWF Attitude , was its style Gameplay arcade, and more rapid. Contrary to Attitude which was based on Tekken - or it is necessary to press on several buttons for the simplest catches, SmackDown! had a system clear for the catches like keys of combinations with the round button for the catches and button X for the blows. Another innovation which was very received was the addition of several rooms in the slides where the all-in wrestlers can fight, which at the time reflected the product with the Hardcore matches being held in the slides. It was only the second play of wrestling to include/understand this at the time ( WCW Mayhem left before being the first). The play included/understood also the first season mode in a play of the WWF, in which the player could take part in the Storyline S of the WWF.

Reaction

Despite everything the praises for the play, it y' had some disappointing points in the play, particularly the mode to create an all-in wrestler. Consisting of only four creations available to create all-in wrestlers of the head to the feet at the base of all-in wrestlers existing or débloquables, this mode was regarded as enormously weak compared to Attitude and even the equivalent of SmackDown! on N64 WrestleMania 2000 .

Another point which disappointed some players was the entries of the all-in wrestlers. Rather than to show the all-in wrestlers to enter on the boxing ring like Attitude and WrestleMania 2000 , the all-in wrestlers made their entry in front of the giant screen. However, with the addition of the power of PlayStation 2, the entries of the play were improved for a better approach compared to other plays on the following versions.

Another weak point lay in the fact that for example an all-in wrestler who received a large blow involving a real damage, was raised just afterwards.
