WWE Revenge

WWE Vengeance is a Pay-per-view of the World Wrestling Entertainment and is held each year in the month of June. Revenge replaced WWE Armageddon in 2001 this year, and in 2003 was exclusive with SmackDown!. It is also the first exclusive Pay per view where WWE Championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championship were concerned the same evening (2005). From 2004 to 2006, it was an exclusive statement with division RAW.

History

2001

Vengeance 2001 was held the December 9th 2001 with the San Diego Sports Arena of San Diego in California.

  • Edge def. William Treat to preserve Intercontinental WWF Championship (9: 06)
    • Edge carried out fallen on Regal after a spear.
  • Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy (with Lita as a special referee) (12: 32)
    • Jeff carried out fallen on Matt after a Swanton Bomb. A foot of Matt was in lower part of the cords but Lita had not seen it.
  • The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von) (W Stacy Keibler) def. The Big Show and Kane to preserve WWF Tag TEAM Championship (6: 49)
    • Bubba Ray carried out fallen on Big Show after a Hotshot in a corner from the boxing ring whose protection was removed.
  • The Undertaker def. Rob Van Damm to gain WWF Hardcore Championship (11: 04)
    • Undertaker carried out fallen on RVD after a Chokeslam from the decoration through several tables.
  • Trish Stratus def. Jacqueline to preserve WWF Women' S Championship (3: 26)
    • Trish carried out fallen on Jacqueline with a Back slide.
  • Steve Austin def. Kurt Angle to preserve WWF Championship (15: 01)
    • Austin carried out fallen on Angle after a Stone Cold Stunner.
  • Chris Jericho def. The Rock'n'roll to gain the World Championship (19: 05)
    • Jericho carried out fallen on Rock after a low blow and a Rock Bottom.
  • World Champion Chris Jericho def. Steve Austin to gain WWF Championship and to become very first WWF Undisputed Champion of the history (12: 31)
    • Jericho carried out fallen on Austin after Booker T struck Austin with the belt of title WWF.

2002

Vengeance 2002 was held the July 21st 2002 with the Joe Louis Arena of Detroit in the Michigan.

2003

Vengeance 2003 was held the July 27th 2003 with the Pepsi Center of Denver in the Colorado. It was the first exclusive statement of division SmackDown!.

2004

Vengeance 2004 was held the July 11th 2004 with the Hartford Civic Center of Hartford in the Connecticut.

2005

Vengeance 2005 was held the June 26th 2005 with the Thomas & Mack Center of Las Vegas in the Nevada.

2006

Vengeance 2006 was held the June 25th 2006 with the Charlotte Bobcats Arena of Charlotte in North Carolina.

2007

Vengeance 2007 was held the June 24th 2007 with the Toyota Center of Houston to the Texas. The official slogan was Night off Champions because all the titles of the WWE were defended during this event.

    • Crazy carried out fallen on Carlito.
  • Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch def. The Hardys (Matt and Jeff) to preserve the World Tag TEAM Championship (8: 51)
    • Cade carried out fallen on Jeff after a Sit-out spinebuster slam.
  • Chavo Guerrero def. Jimmy Wang Yang to preserve WWE Cruiserweight Championship (9: 15)
    • Guerrero carried out fallen on Yang after a Frog Splash.
  • Johnny Nitro def. Punk CM to gain vacant ECW World Heavyweight Championship (8: 01)
    • Nitro carried out fallen on Punk after a Front flip neckbreaker.
    • Nitro was the substitute of Chris Benoit, which was absent for reasons personnel and it was found died the following day.
  • Santino Marella def. Umaga by disqualification to preserve Intercontinental WWE Championship (2: 35)
    • Umaga was disqualified not to want to stop striking Marella.
  • Montel Vontavious To carry def. Ric Sense of smell to preserve WWE United States Championship (8: 40)
    • MVP carried out fallen on Flair after a Playmaker.
  • Deuce 'NR Domino (W Cherry) def. Sgt. Slaughter and Jimmy Snuka to preserve WWE Tag TEAM Championship (6: 29)
    • Deuce carried out fallen on Snuka after a Crossbody.
    • After the match, Deuce 'NR Domino continued to attack Slaughter and Snuka until Rick Martel and Tony Garea comes to the rescue.
    • It is the second time that a father (Jimmy Snuka) faced his son (Deuce) in the history of the WWE.
  • Edge def. Batista by calculation outside to preserve the World Heavyweight Championship (16: 50)
    • Batista was counted outside.
    • Batista in the beginning had gained by disqualification, but the match was started again on order of the General Manager of SmackDown! Long Theodore.
    • Following this defeat, Batista will not have any more a chance with the title as long as Edge will remain champion.
  • Candice Michelle def. Melina to gain WWE Women' S Championship (8: 21)
    • Michelle carried out fallen on Melina after a Spinning Heel Kick.
  • John Cena def. Mick Foley, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton and King Booker (W Queen Sharmell) to preserve WWE Championship (10: 09)
    • Cena carried out fallen on Foley after a FU.

2008

Vengeance 2008 will be held the June 29th 2008 with the American Airlines Center of Dallas to the Texas.
