WWE Friday Night SmackDown!

Friday Night SmackDown! is a preregistered emission of professional fight (wrestling) diffused with the the United States via The CW Television Network, in Canada on The Score Network, with the the United Kingdom and in Ireland via Sky Sports, with the Portugal on SIC Radical, in Australia on Fox 8 and in Finland on SubTV, like in France via NT1. It is produced by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Fighters of SmackDown! make on average 4 official receptions per week. One records usually the emission Tuesday evening for it diffused only the next Thursday evening for The Score with the Canada and Friday on CW with the the United States. With its launching in 1999, SmackDown! was diffused Thursdays evening, but the September 9th 2005, the emission moved for Fridays evening. History

WWF SmackDown! (known as the original name) was launched to compete with the show of Thursday evening of WCW, Thunder . In the spirit of the era Attitude of the WWF, the show was designed to be a two hours emission in primetime, entirely devoted to the Divas of the WWF. However, the project fell to water, and thus SmackDown became the complement of RAW is WAR .

The first edition of SmackDown! was held the April 29th 1999, using the time box of RAW is WAR for a special program on chain UPN. The August 26th 1999 was officially launched SmackDown! on UPN. How WCW Thunder , SmackDown! was recorded Tuesday and was diffused Thursdays evening. Brand Extension

The WWF began something which they entitled the " Brand Extension" (Extension of Division). This wanted to say that the two televised shows of the WWF ( RAW and SmackDown! ) was going to return in competition one against the other. This decision was made after the repurchase of the WCW by the WWF, to introduce the new arrivals of which those of late ECW. The brand extension was publicly announced during the diffusion of WWF RAW the March 25th 2002, and became official the next day.

Brand Extension was going to bring a change as ever the WWF did not have of it before. The all-in wrestlers was going to become " exclusifs" with their show, catchants only for only one division. This did not include/understand the Undisputed Champion and the Women' S Champion, because in the beginning these titles were defended in the two shows. However, later in 2002, Brock Lesnar, then WWE Undisputed Champion, refused to defend its title with RAW , which blow became exclusive with SmackDown! . This obliged Eric Bischoff (General Manager of RAW at that time) to separate the World Heavyweight Championship from WWE Championship owing to the fact that the WWE Undisputed Championship was now exclusive with SmackDown! and was not seen any more as being “undisputed”.

Division SmackDown! had a little sister, Velocity, which was a show of second zone with matches of all-in wrestlers of low-stages, but also of the summaries from what occurred to SmackDown! . The March 10th 2005, Viacom announced that they were not going to continue their agreement to diffuse the WWE on Spike TV after the expiry of their contract in September 2005. This included also Velocity , which was diffused on Spike TV before being diffused on the site of the WWE, when the programs of the WWE moved towards the USA Network. Velocity then stopped with the profit of the launching of the division of ECW in June 2006.

The June 6th 2005, WWE Champion John Cena changed division of SmackDown! with RAW within the framework of Draft Lottery spread out over one month. This left large criticisms towards the WWE to have to diffuse this attack one day like this one.

Friday Night SmackDown!

Following the stop of the series Star Trek: Enterprise, SmackDown! was famous Friday Night SmackDown! and put at the place of the time box of Enterprise to the the United States. The WWE to promote this change using the slogan " TV that' S changing Friday nights" (Television which changes Fridays evenings). New the Friday Night SmackDown! thus made its first the September 9th 2005. The program remains however diffused Thursday with the Canada on The Score. With the the United Kingdom and in Australia, the chains Sky Sports and FOX8 diffuse SmackDown! Friday but before the the United States with the jet lag. It is the first time that a major weekly show of the WWE is diffused before with the US one.

The events of the Ouragan Katrina affected unfolding under good conditions of the first edition of Friday Night SmackDown! with the US one. Long Theodore organized a Royal Battle for the vacant title. The winner was the superstar of RAW at the time Kurt Angle, which after was transferred to SmackDown! . The WWE broke with its tradition by revealing before the diffusion the victory of Angle with a photograph of him holding up the title over the principal page of WWE.com.

The April 7th 2006 at the time of SmackDown! , the general Long Theodore manager announced that the tournament of King off the Ring would turn over after four years of absence as an exclusive tournament to division SmackDown! . The tournament was finally completed with Judgment Day 2006 with the victory of Booker T vis-a-vis Bobby Lashley.

The June 9th, Tazz left SmackDown! to join the new division of ECW, leaving the post of vacant consultant to the comments. The June 11th with One Night Stand 2006, JBL revealed that it was going to be the new consultant with the comments for SmackDown! .

The September 22nd 2006, Friday Night SmackDown! began on The CW Television Network, resulting from a fusion between the chains UPN and The WB Television Network.

The November 17th 2006, SmackDown! unloaded finally in France on a chain of TNT, NT1 under the name of Catch Attack .

The April 20th 2007, SmackDown! celebrated its 400ème episode with Milan in Italy.

The October 16th 2007 was lance the partnership between SmackDown! and the ECW , certain all-in wrestlers of two divisions being able performer from now on in the other show.
