WS-Policy is a flexible and extensible grammar which makes it possible to express the possibilities, Exigence S, and general characteristics of entities in a system based on the services Web XML. WS-Policy defines a framework and a model for the expression of these properties as a policies .

In particular, WS-policy is a specification which allows:

  • with the consumers of services Web to specify their Requirement S as regards policy
  • with the services Web to use XML to announce their policies (on safety, the Quality of service, etc),

WS-Policy was subjected to W3C on April 25th 2006.

WS-Policy represents a whole of specifications which describes the possibilities and the constraints of the policies of safety (and other fields) on the final intermediaries and points ( end points ), for example, pledges on the safety required, algorithms of Chiffrement supported, and rules on the Private life) and how to associate policies with services and points of final delivery ( end points ).

Policy Assertion

Assertions edge either Be requirements could upon has Web service gold year advertisement off the policies off has Web service.

Operator tags

Two " operators" (XML tags) are used to make statements butt policy combinations:

  • wsp:ExactlyOne - asserts that only one child node must Be satisfied.

  • wsp:All - asserts that all child nodes must Be satisfied.
Logically, year empty wsp: All tag makes No assertions.

Policy Intersection

The policy intersection has semantic (ace opposed to syntactic) off intersection two policies. The intersection has new policy that complies with both to their requirements/capabilities - but, incompatible yew the policies are, this is discovered by both left.
