WCW/nWo Revenge is the continuation of the play of 1997, WCW vs. nWo: World Turn . Like the preceding play, it includes/understands the revolutionary system of jouablity set up by AKI, with improved graphics, a better championship mode, and broad a roster all-in wrestlers (real and fictitious).

History

At the time of the exit of the play, the Monday Night Wars started to turn in the favor of WWF. In spite of this WCW/nWo Revenge was generally recognized like the best video game of wrestling of 1998, and at that time, like more the big game of wrestling of the history which was never made.

The direct adversary of Revenge was WWF War Zone of Acclaim. War Zone had a rather difficult control, a bad awkward animation and collision detection, overall. The comparison Revenge/War Zone is currently an good example of the old debate in the video games about the graphs against the gameplay, Revenge having of step too bad graphs and better a gameplay.

The system of catches of Revenge garnered its success and its popularity. The graphs came from World Tour , and for first time THQ introduced the current arnéas, like Monday Nitro and Starrcade . The play had also a expenssive collection all-in wrestlers, as all the WCW/nWo all-in wrestlers of the time were included in the play. The Championship Mode made it possible to the players to select a belt and then to fight various all-in wrestlers until if required beating the champion in title. THQ introduced a mode to create an all-in wrestler in 1999 with the play WWF WrestleMania 2000 which saw THQ putting an end to its relation with WCW and joining the WWF. It y' had also a mode or you could change the costumes of any all-in wrestler and publish their catch of completion (what was not included on World Tour).

Innovations and additions since World Turn

WCW/nWo Revenge was thus the continuation of WCW vs nWo World Tour , and thus had some changes and additions. Certain additions included the entries of the all-in wrestlers, a broader roster, the managers at the edge of the boxing ring, of graphics more shining and coloured, the referee of the WCW Mark Curtis, and arenas TV and statement. He y' had also a new whole gameplay with more counter, the introduction of the multiples counter, the large all-in wrestlers entering on the boxing ring while passing over the third cord, being capable of courire on the boxing ring, and being able to slip apart from the boxing ring.

The ends of match saw idles of the best moments of the match, just like a system of score for the performance of the all-in wrestler. During the play you could also " voler" gestures of your opponents, and to do yours more easily.

Moreover, Revenge introduced the system of the combos where some all-in wrestlers could make a combination of attack followed of a catch. The system was not as good as that and was even awkward to use.

The play saw many new catches added since World Tour . For example, in World Turn , the finish of Kevin Nash is a BASIC Powerbomb. In Revenge , it was exactly Jackknife Powerbomb. Other catches which are vast were largely improved like the " Stinger Splash" , the " Outsider' S Edge" , and the " Diamond Cutter". Moreover, certain all-in wrestlers as for example Chris Benoit had their own catch of completion for the first time. Will supertsras like Bret Hart, Goldberg and Chris Jericho was added since World Tour . However it y' has a notable lapse of memory, that of Ric Flair which was present in World Tour , but which had been done transfered WCW not to be come with an edition from WCW Thunder at the beginning of 1998 although it was done re-enlisted at the end of the year. At this time there, Revenge was in its final stage of production and it was impossible to add Flair with the play.
