WAZA
waza is a Japanese term used in the Judo and the Ju-jitsu and which indicates technical on the ground , and more generally indicating all the field of the combat on the ground. They are static techniques, the concept is thus different from Suwari waza which indicates techniques implying of displacements with knees.
At the time of the waza , the two combatants are on the ground and are not raised, they have at their disposal different techniques:
-
the Katame-Waza (techniques of controls) to control the adversary and to take a dominant position.
- the shime waza (techniques of throttlings) which make it possible to make give up the adversary by compressing either the air routes (trachea) or blood (carotids)
- the kantetsu waza (techniques of luxations), which allow by keys or luxations to put in hyperextension an unspecified articulation and to cause the abandonment of the adversary.
The waza is not a discipline of combat particularly long to control, the beginner using much force and energy in vain and slowly being done progress.
