W9 is a Television channel French general practitioner with tendency music and Série S.
History of the chain
The chain was called
M6 Music until the
March 31st 2005. This launched music channel in March
1998 by the Groupe M6 was diffused on the bouquet TPS. In January
2005, M6 Music gives to two variations:
M6 Music Rock'n'roll and
M6 Music Black. The
March 31st 2005, at the time of its diffusion on TNT, M6 Music is renamed
W9 (M6 out of mirror) and, the same day, the Groupe M6 lance
M6 Music Hits on TPS to replace M6 Music.
Programs
W9 is a chain mini-general practitioner with musical tendency; its programs are thus centered on the music (diffusion of
Concert S and videomusic), the series (mainly of origin étatsunienne), the Téléfilm S and the Cinéma.
Sport, Music and fiction seem to summarize the new grid of W9. W9 Live, In search of action and Simpson which make their return to the antenna. W9 does not hesitate with miser over new appointments of which The Contender (boxes) and a new entertainment Fast Club (automobile). Two new fictions will come to punctuate this grid: Threshold, first contact and The Links, commando of elite. Finally W9 wants to affirm its rise to power by event-driven programming by diffusing Grammy and American Music Awards and of the sports events.
In 2007, the chain recruits new organizers of which Julie Raynaud with the presentation of a new version of the Jeu of the truth . Bertrand Amar, Karima Charni and Maud Jurez also comes to inflate the rows of the chain. Lastly, Alexandre Devoise will take the orders of a revisited version of the fury .
An emission based on the strip-poker and produced by Benjamin Castaldi is also being studied.

Cartoons
Since
January 2006, the chain diffuses the mythical cartoon
Simpson S of which it bought the rights of season 1 to season 15, at a rate of four episodes per day.
In May 2006, the Japanese cartoon gray Ailes made a short appearance. This cartoon had gained the emission Made in manga
Series
Since its arrival on the TNT, W9 quickly imposed itself like one of the principal diffusers of series on the TNT. The large majority of its series initially passed on
M6.
Sport
The chain makes its beginnings in this field with the emission
100% Girondins in 2006, two hours emission devoted to the topicality of the football club of Bordeaux (in addition pertaining to the group). This program was initially diffused on
M6 Saturday evening. At the time of the Championnat of Europe of Espoirs football 2006, it is affirmed in this sector, while being the only French chain to follow the competition where the Bleuets are however committed. In 2007, W9 renews the experiment by diffusing the Championnat of Europe of Espoirs football 2007 where the team of France is however not committed. It diffuses also certain matches of the Coupe of the UEFA of which
M6 has the televised rights but does not diffuse any match except the final, it is thus W9 which transmits some matches, in particular those of French.
Diversification also comes from the diffusion of the
Copa América 2007, from June 25th to July 5th.
It is also invested in the mechanical medium, with summaries saturdays and Sundays morning of the Rallys WRC as well as Grands Prix of Motor bike.
Goes down for hearing
In the first quarter 2006, the chain was at the head audiences of the chain of the free TNT, in term of televiewers. (it is always the case in October 2006 and in January 2007.
Since the month of June 2007, W9 is the first chain as regards audience in front of TMC, Gulli and NT1.
