W-language

The W-Language is a language of 5th generation (L5G) included in the development tools WinDev, WebDev and WinDev Mobile. It is a simplified language and flexible device which makes it possible to obtain results very quickly.

Like the languages Java, Visual BASIC or C#, the code is precompiled and interpreted with the execution by the framework, which allows an independence of the achievable file compared to the target operating system.

The W-language is at the same time an object-oriented language and an imperative language. He recalls per moment Visual BASIC and makes a little think of certain L3G like Borland Delphi as regards the code, loops, conditions etc but is classified especially in languages L5G with high level of abstraction like SQL or eDeveloper.

The language supports the procedural programming and the directed programming object and can thus be used according to the wish of the developer.

The W-language is characterized by the presence from functions from relatively high level, such as the function EcranVersFichier , which carries out the assignments of the contents of the fields of a window towards tables stored in a file, to which the fields were beforehand connected, like by the linguistic translation (French/English) of all the names of functions and constants, modifiable with the flight, automatically.

The W-language makes it possible to program in French and English.

Example: sChaine is a chain sChaine = DateVersChaine (Now ()) Information (" We are the " + sChaine)

or in English: sChaine is string sChaine = DateToString (Now ()) Information (" We are the " + sChaine)
