Vyškov

Vyškov (in German: Wischau ) is a town of Moravie, chief town of Moravie of the South.

History

The first testimony written on Vyškov goes back to 1141 and mentions the bishop of Olomouc, Jindřich Zdík. The borough acquires the statute of city in 1248 but does not depend on it less évêché on Olomouc until the 19th century.

At the 15th century, during the Wars hussites, the city, faithful to its évèque and its catholic faith is taken by Hussites which, in 1427, put it at bag. The city is rebuilt slowly: with the Rebirth, a new town hall built east (see photo below).

During the War Thirty Year old, it is occupied by twice by the Swedes who plunder it basic in roof in 1643 and massacre his inhabitants: there remain nothing any more but 54 hearts at the conclusion of the war. In the years 1680, it is again victim, of the Peste this time. A votive column is high on the central place to commemorate this event. The city is raised slowly.
