The Vulcan price of the artist technician is a cinematographic price given at the time of the Cannes festival. Initially named technical Grand Prix during its creation in 1951, it had disappeared at the time of the festivals of 2001 and 2002 before taking its current name at the time of the edition 2003. It is decreed by the technical higher Commission of the image and the sound (CST), which thus wishes to put at the honor a " artist-technicien" for its participation in a film in competition official. It can thus be a question of a Director of the photography, of a decorator chief, an assembler, a sound engineer… but also of a realizer or a film as a whole.
