Vuibert
Vuibert is one of the great names of the French edition, whose origin goes up with 1877.
It is indeed in 1877 qu ' Henry Vuibert, then young person aggregate of mathematics of France, founded Bookstore bearing its name (very precisely Librarie Vuibert and Nony). With for key objective creating scientific magazines. In 1885, it is however him which with the idea to publish the subjects of Baccalauréat. An idea which will be worth to him to pass with the posterity, as regards edition, since he is regarded as the editor of the first extra-curricular collection in France. Its initiative will be a success as considerable as durable. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Vuibert Bookstore publishes mainly scientific works (Mathématiques, sciences, Biologie…), that they are directly related to the school programs or that they concern a step of Vulgarisation.
From the beginning of the Years 1970, Jean Adam, husband of Monique Vuibert, ensured the management of the firm and played a notable part, in particular while launching university collections.
At the beginning of the Years 1980, Vuibert asserts to have created the first collections of books of Gestion. An initiative which, there still, seems to have contributed to the continuation of a strong development.
In 1992, Magnard became principal shareholder of this publisher.
Since 1995, the Groupe Albin Michel, which is presented in the form of one of the leaders independent of the French edition, became the principal shareholder of Vuibert. In addition to the Editions Albin Michel and the Large Book of the Month, it includes/understands Vuibert and Magnard, company founded in 1933 by Roger Magnard, which was at the origin of famous the " book of vacances".
Today, Vuibert publishes books for the pupils of primary education and college, Annals of the administrative contests and the works considered in various fields. This house is known to count solids references among its authors. It leaves approximately 150 innovations per annum.
Among the publications of Vuibert a collection of history of sciences is directed by Jean Rosmorduc, to which contribute of the famous specialists.
