The Vuachère is a Rivière Canton of Vaud, in Suisse.

Geography

The source of Vuachère is with Epalinges, with the locality Under the Boards , to 730 m of altitude. She traverses then the border between the communes of Pully and Lausanne before throwing herself in the Lac Léman in the east of the quays of Ouchy.

On its way, it receives, by an underground gallery of 680m, part of water of the Flon. Flon entering then the sewers of Lausanne, this deviation makes it possible to decrease its flow, therefore the work of the purification plant.

This derivation makes it possible moreover to increase the flow of Vuachère, often dry in summer and autumn.

This flow, of minimum 0.5 m ³ /s with the mouth, can reach 34 m ³ /s at the time of the risings.

Cleansing of Vuachère

Between 1994 and 1996 took place of important drainage works of Vuachère, allowing a consolidation of its banks, prone to major problems of erosion considering the very strong slope and the great flows in times of rain. Work also allowed a revitalization of wood sheltering the river and the creation of a footpath on its course.

The waste water collector, going back to 1908, moreover was changed, making it possible to remove the waste water escapes in the river.

Fauna

Since the drainage works, Vuachère saw reappearing in its water the Truite of the lake.
