Vryburg
Vryburg (in Afrikaans: extremely free ) is a Ville located in the province of the North-West in South Africa.
History
With the beginning of the year 1880, two tribes (the Koranna and the Tlapin) are in war and call upon mercenaries remunerated with territorial concessions.
Once the peace returned in 1882, these mercenaries reconverted as farmers founds the state of the Stellaland with Vryburg for capital. The city is composed then of 416 farms.
In 1885, it loses this statute when Stellaland is built-in the British Bechuanaland, then colony of the the United Kingdom. In 1895, it is integrated in the Colonie of the Cape. During the War of Boers, the British build a concentration camp there to intern the civilians boers there.
In 1910, the town of Vryburg integrates the news the Cape Province.
The administrative recutting of South Africa in 1994 founds new provinces. Vryburg integrates that of the North-western whose capital is fixed at Mafikeng.
Economy
Witness of its pastoral past, Vryburg still saw his herds by producing meat, butter, dried milk and meat canning facility.

At the beginning of the XXe century, Vryburg emitted its clean stamps with for legend special VR post ( VR for Vryburg).
