Vrije Universiteit Brussel
VUB ( Vrije Universiteit Brussel ) is a Université of language Dutch E, established with Brussels in Belgium.
Although its name is the exact equivalent of French Universit3e libre de Bruxelles , Vrije Universiteit Brussel is today completely independent of the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
History
The Flemish VUB is resulting from the French-speaking ULB created in 1834 per Theodore Verhaegen.
Certain courses of rights were given in Dutch to the ULB since 1935, but it had to be waited until 1963 so that almost all faculties organize Dutch courses. The VUB separated finally from the ULB on October 1st, 1969, and was consisted a law on May 28th, 1970 in separate entity from the legal, administrative and scientific point of view.
