Voxel
The voxel (contraction of “ volumetric pixel ”) is a Pixel in 3D. The voxel is a term definitely more often used than its synonym, the boxel .
Medical imagery
The voxel is used for the representation of spaces 3D, in physics or medical imagery 3D by digital processing of cuts 2D from the machines of investigation (Scanner, IRM…).

Returned by voxel
There exist engines 3D using of the voxels to draw landscapes. They are on the other hand rather rare, the drawing by triangle being now more running in the engines 3D, because it was quickly cabled materially, which made it possible to make plays whose animation is very fluid.
