Vox AC 30

The Vox AC30 is an amplifying for Electric guitar with the very typified sound, in particular thanks to the lamps of amplifications EL84, appeared at the end of annés the 1950.

History

It is an answer to its direct competitor of the time, Fender Twin, which is more powerful than AC 15. Fender thus pushes Vox to create a more powerful amplifier: AC 30. It was used by a great number of famous musicians, mainly in the years 1960-1970. Groups such as the The Shadows, which were the very first users, Beatles, the Rolling stones, Rory Gallagher or Queen, used much this amplifier, which remains still today a reference as regards lamp amplification guitar. It is used for example by The Subways, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs or Razorlight.

Vox left some special editions its Vox AC30:
  • Vox AC30 Brian May signed which is supposed to imitate the sound of the guitarist of Queen
  • Vox AC30 amPlug which is an mini-amplifier used when a guitarist wants to play with a helmet without intermediate amplifier.
