Votkinsk
Votkinsk (in Russian Воткиск) is a town of Russia, located in Oudmourtie, in the west of the the Ural, on the edge of Votka (Вотка), river which is thrown in the Lac of Votkinsk (Воткискийпруд) then in the Kama.

Founded the April 3rd 1759, initially like simple colony related to the metallurgical companies belonging to Earl Chouvalov, Votkinsk remains today still a working and industrial city with: 98500 inhabitants in 2005, which makes the second town of Oudmourtie of it, after the capital, Ijevsk.
The principal company of the city is the factory Votkinskaïa Zavod (: 13000 employment), which manufactures:
- of the ballistic missiles Topol-M
- of the industrial plant (material of drilling, installations of refrigeration, machines various)
- of consumables (electric household appliances, etc).
With its lake, Votkinsk is surrounded by forests and splendid natural wealths.
Votkinsk is moreover the birthplace of the type-setter Tchaïkovski (born the May 5th 1840) who lived eight years there. Its native house is today a museum which one can visit.
