A list system in the majority or majority poll plurinominal of lists of party is a Voting system by list.

It is used, for the election of a certain number of their deputies (all or left) with Djibouti, with the Lebanon, Singapore, in Tunisia, Ecuador, Suisse and with the Senegal and often in complement of a Vote by districts when a district must provide several seats.

Implementation

Each party proposes a list of candidates. The voter chooses a list. The list having obtained a majority of voice is the gaining list and obtains all the seats.

One can have a simple majority poll where the list is elected in the majority relating to the first turn, or a majority poll with two turns where the list must be elected in the majority absolute with the first turn or relating to the second turn.

Advantages and disadvantages

This system amplifies the influence of the great parties and decreases that of the average parties. Contrary to the Vote of list to proportional the, it does not respect the representation proportional. It is useful to release a strong majority capable of important reform. When the rules of constitution of list oblige with one représentativé of the minorities or the women, this vote allows the attribution of seats these minorities more easily than another Voting system.
