Vorges

Vorges is a common French, located in the department of the Aisne and the area Picardy.

Destroyed to 95% at the time of the First World War, it is associated today with the town of Vincennes (the Valley-of-Marne) which is its “godmother of war” and helped to rebuild it.

Classified church: nave of XIIe century, square tower of crossed of XIIIe century, traces of fortifications of XVe century. In 1883 and 1972, archaeological excavations allowed the discovery of a necropolis mérovingienne. Sarcophagi and steles discovered are exposed to the church. One can also discover reproductions of these steles by visiting the museum of cruel Times with Marle.
