The Volkswagen Corrado is a sporting half-compartment taking the continuation of the Scirocco. However, contrary to its predecessor, this one aimed at a top-of-the-range market.
The design of the Corrado half-compartment is of style 2+2 is 2 places before and 2 true places with the back. The body is with Hayon, which makes it possible to have a trunk with generous dimensions for this type of vehicle, the back bench being folding 2/3 1/3.
Several motorizations were available:
From 1992 to 1995: 4 cylinders 1.984 cm ³ 16 valves catalyzed. 136 ch power, couple of 16,1 m.kg with 4.800 tr/min.

Corrado SLC :
Corrado VR6 :
This vehicle was equipped in series with a braking ABS, electric panes, power-assisted steering, of a trip computer and a aileron which is spread automatically as of 120 km/h (80 km/h in North America and Switzerland).
At the time of its exit in 1988, Corrado G60 (single motorization suggested this year there) was proposed in France with a tariff close to the 200.000 F.
Models of lower power, without compressor, came thereafter to supplement the range by bottom to make the tariff gravitational.
In the same frame of mind, there also existed of the special series (see below) in order to try to start again the sales.
special series:
Jet: This series, equipped with the engine 1.8l G60, was proposed on the German market only, between the end of 1991 and at the beginning of 1992. It was a question here of selling the G60 last, before its replacement by the VR6. To keep the prices with low, the equipment of series was less than on the other models: De-icing ABS, trip computer, electric rear view mirrors, and electric drive of the headlights only. The distinctive signs of this series are: a monogram " Jet… " right in front of the passages of aft wheels, and a specific interior sport or the backs of seats and part of the doors are out of plastic corded of color (blue, red, black, or purple) with a back bench without central balustrade. The possible colors of body were, like the seats, 4: blue, red, black, or purple. The rims of series were of Estoril.
Jet2: This series takes again the principle of the Jet, but this time with the engine 1.8 16V, which yields its place to the 2.0 16V catalyzed. This time the equipment of series is more generous (electric panes), and the interior is similar to the other models of the range, except however for a back bench without central balustrade. This series was available in many European countries, of which France.
Estoril: special Series intended for the Italian market. It coexisted with the special series " Jet" mentioned above, and was it also equipped with the engine 1.8l G60. The equipment of series was here identical to the remainder of the range. The distinctive signs of this series are monograms " Estoril" visible on the body, as well as applats of colors on the wings before and backs. This special series was fitted Estoril rims.
Storm: limited Series intended for the British market to mark the end of the production of Corrado. The motorization was 2.9l VR6. This version is only the 4 wheels motor coach proposed for Corrado. The presentation was luxurious: All the equipment was available of series, the rims were the all recent " Solitude" , which thereafter will be found on other models of the manufacturer. The only distinctive signs are a monogram " Storm" red joined with the back VR6 and a second monogram " Storm" red close to the gear shift lever.
Since 1995, Volkswagen stopped the production of half-compartments of series. The range thus does not have at present a substitute.
