Voinsles

Voinsles is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Vincelais .

Geography

Voinsles is located at the east of Paris at a distance of about fifty kilometers. One reaches it by the Nationale 4. The majority of the territory is occupied by arable lands. The Main road divides the commune in two. In the south there is some wood (Blandureau, Breuil…) who have a surface of approximately 4 km. All the population is localized in the north of the Main road mainly along the main street. The Yerres, affluent of the the Seine, form limit with the common neighbor of Lumigny-Nesles-Ormeaux. Visandre, one as of its affluents, crosses the territoite of the commune.

There is on the territory of many isolated farms: Grisien, the High sandstones, the New Farm, Tessonnerie, etc With the Locality Breuil, listed in 1500 “strong house”, draws up a Château in stone and brick S dating from the 19th century.

History

One finds his name quoted in 1218. The Latin name “Venule Villa” would mean “small village with the narrow streets”. The " Way of Rozoy with Sésane" or " Main road of Sésane" passed by Voinsles coming from Rozoy (old name of Rozay-in-Brie) and going towards Vaudoy-in-Brie (the road which will take the name of Main road 4 coming from Paris stopped in Rozoy). Until 1285 the village was located in a " go séparante" in which the inhabitants depended on powerful the Count de Champagne and on the King, each one having rights of justice. It will be necessary to await the marriage of Philippe IV with Jeanne de Navarre so that Voinsles is attached to the crown. The commune of Voinsles increased in 1842 communes of Villeneuve-the-Hurée and Planoy. Villeneuve-the-Hurée, located on a spur, was certainly a strengthened point. It remains in Planoy only some houses and a large farm. Its church was dedicated to Saint Leu and Saint Gilles.

The church of Voinsles, whose certain elements of the chorus would be 13th century, saw its bell-tower raised in 1775 and its side rebuilds in 1857.
