Vlieland

Vlieland is a common Dutchwoman of Frise which includes/understands the island of Vlieland. There is one village on the island: Oost-Vlieland (in Clippings: East-Flylân ). Formerly, another village existed on the part of the west of the island: West-Vlieland. This village disappeared in the floods at the 17th century.

Vlieland belongs to the Archipel islands of the Plank; it is between the islands of Texel and Terschelling

Vlieland draws its name from the Vlie, running of the Mer of Wadden.

The Sand bank of Richel belongs to the commune of Vlieland.
