Vladislas Jagellon (in Czech: Vladislas Jagellonský , in Hungarian: II. Ulászló ) (March 1st 1456 - March 13rd 1516) becomes king de Bohême in 1471 then of Hungary of 1490 until its death.

Vladislas is the oldest son of the king de Pologne and Large-duke of Lithuania Casimir IV Jagellon and of Elisabeth de Habsbourg, girl of Albert II of the Holy roman Empire.

He is proposed with the throne of the kingdom by the widow of the king Georges de Podiebrady. He is crowned the August 22nd 1471. However, arrived very young person (it is fifteen years old) in a divided country, it is dominated by its advisers. Vladislas is a cordial man and an influenceable king who passed in the history with the qualifier of Vladislas Bene or the nickname of “king Bene” because of the fact that he answered quasi-systématiquement of a “ Bene ” the requests that it was made him, i.e. “it is well” or “yes” in Latin, language which does not know the latter mot.

With its accession with the throne, he is king only in Bohemia, the Moravie, the Silesia and the Lusace being with the hands of Matthias Corvin which usurped the title of king of Bohemia, and the Paix of Olomouc allows a compromise which stipulates that each king is authorized to use his title, and that in the event of the death of Matthias, Vladislas can recover the entirety of the Czech grounds realizing payment of compensations. The payment did not take place since with died of Matthias, in 1490, Vladislas becomes king de Hongrie. It is crowned on September 21st with Székesfehérvár.

The agreement of Kutná Hora, in 1485, eliminates practically the capacity from Vladislas to give it to the noble ones. Whereas the agreement was to be limited to one 31 years period, it is wide indefinitely in 1512.

Its reign is stable, although its borders are under the constant pressure of the Ottoman Empire, and that he sees in 1514 the short revolt of György Dózsa.

It Marie three times: his first wife is Barbara de Brandebourg (1464 - 1515), girl of Albert III Achilles de Brandebourg, the voter of Brandebourg, Albrecht Achilles de Hohenzollern, the second Béatrice of Naples, the widow of Matthias Corvin. Making cancel the first two marriages in 1500, it married in third weddings Anne de Foix which gives him two children, Anne and Louis.

Louis is ten years old when it succeeds his father on the thrones of Bohemia and Hungary. Anne (born in 1503) is promised by dynastic agreement between the Jagellon and the Habsbourg in 1515 with Ferdinand de Habsbourg, while Louis is promised in marriage to Marie, the sister of Ferdinand. Following the untimely death of Louis to the battles of Mohács, the diet of Bohemia elects king Ferdinand de Habsbourg.
