Vladimir Jovanović

Vladimir Jovanović , into Serb Cyrillic ВладимирЈовановић (born with Šabac the September 28th 1833 - died the March 3rd 1922 with Belgrade), was a Politician, a economist and a Serb Journaliste ). He was Minister for Finance of his country.

Vladimir Jovanović made in Germany studies of economy and agronomy. He was then professor of economy to the High School, which later was going to become the Université of Belgrade.

On the political plan, he was initially member of the Radical party, which led it to leave Serbia in 1860.

In 1865, it started to publish the free-Serb newspaper " Слобода - the liberté". In 1866, with Pest, it was one of the organizers of the Serb Liberal party. It was given like drank to obtain political freedom in Serbia.

In 1869, it was suspecté to have taken part in the assassination of the Michel III Obrenović but it was cleared.

In 1872, Vladimir Jovanović returned to Serbia. He was then elected appointed with the National Assembly. He was also Minister for Finance of 1876 with 1880.

Vladimir Jovanović was a liberal thinker . He was favorable to individual freedom, with the national release; he was conscious of the role of education. Jovanović was influenced by John Stuart Mill and the British parliamentary system

Vladimir Jovanović wrote articles for the newspapers. He translated into Serb Wilhelm Roscher and John Stuart Mill. He wrote also the Serb ones and the mission of Serbia in Europe of the East (Paris, 1870), The emancipation off the Serbian nation (1873). Its major work is a Political Dictionnaire (1872).
