Vladimir Cosma
Vladimir Cosma , is a type-setter, violonist of formation and Leader, born the April 13rd 1940 with Bucharest, in Romania.
Biography
Vladimir Cosma is resulting from a family of musicians: Téodor Cosma, his/her father, is pianist and leader, his mother is composer-songwriter, Edgar Cosma, one of his uncles, was also type-setter, leader and his/her grandmother was pianist.In 1963, it settles with Paris and continues its musical training with Nadia Boulanger, with the Teacher training school of music of Paris. In 1966, does Michel Legrand, taken by his work on the young ladies of Rochefort , ask him to undertake arrangements of his songs ( Oum the dolphin , Where go the balloons? ) and proposes to him, the following year, to take its place to compose the music of Alexandre the Happy which Yves Robert carries out.
Then begin for Cosma a career of type-setter of film musics, of which those of the Aventures of Rabbi Jacob or fair Grand with a black shoe , with its topic interpreted with the Panpipes, which are among most known. Its work was preceded with the Cannes festival and it gains two Césars of the best film music for the films Diva of Jean-Jacques Beineix in 1982 and the Ball of Ettore Scola in 1984.
It composes also the credits of opening and closing of antenna of TF1 which were diffused between 1975 and 1976, then new versions of 1976 with 1984. After more than 300 melodies and film musics, it now devotes to the writing of symphonic continuations based on the famous melodies which it wrote for the cinema. He also worked several years with a Opéra according to the work of Marcel Pagnol: the “Marseilles Trilogy” whose creation took place with the Opéra of Marseilles in September 2007.

Opera
Vladimir Cosma put nearly 3 years to write his opera “Marius and Fanny”, according to the work of Marcel Pagnol. This opera in two act was played for the first time at the Opéra of Marseilles on September 4th, 2007, with Roberto Alagna and Angela Gheorghiu in the principal roles.
