Vlade Divac

Vlade Divac , (Serb: ВладеДивац ) born the February 3rd 1968 with Prijepolje, is a player of Serb Basket-ball , playing for Yugoslavia then for Serbia Montenegro at the station of pivot.

Sporting biography

After three last years with the Partizan Belgrade with which it gains a title of Yugoslavia and a national cut, but especially the Coupe Korac 1989, it is Draft E in 1989 by the Los Angeles Lakers which because of departure of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar must find a new pivot.

It makes a success of its entry in NBA perfectly, finishing its first in the first team of the rookie . In this team made up of the stars Dražen Petrović, Dino Radja and Toni Kukoč it finishes the competition with 11.7 points and 6.5 rebounds of average.

With Yugoslavia, it will also gain the world title in 1990 in Argentina as well as the European titles 1989 and 1991.

Then with the Serbia Montenegro, it gains a new European title in 1995, then the following year, a money medal at the time of the Olympic Games 1996 with Atlanta. At the time of its last great competition in national team, it gains the world title in the United States after having eliminated the American team into 1/4 from finale before gaining the title against Argentina of Ginobili.

Concurrently to its activities of players, he became president of his old club of Partizan, club which also has as vice-president of old glories of passed such as Žarko Paspalj or Predrag Danilović.

He is, since July 2006, the sport director of the section basketball of the Real Madrid.
