VIVA is a musical Television channel German of the Group Viacom. It is in diffusion on the satellite Astra 1 with 19,2°E.

History of the chain

The chain was creates in 1993 by the group Time Warner and directed by Dieter Gorny. This chain at summer creates to counter MTV, although it will make later to party group Viacom

In 1995, on March 21st, a second channel under the name of Viva Zwei ( Viva Two German ), a chain concentrated on the groups/singers less known, was creates. It was renamed Viva Plus in 2002 and dies to leave room to Comedy Central Germany, on January 14th, 2007.

Since 1995, Viva with creates a ceremony of the stars baptized " Viva Comet" , like MTV VMA from MTV.

Music

In the Nineties, Viva passed the musics " pop" , hits. When MTV with repurchased the Viva chain, this one passed what would have passed MTV if it did not pass from TVS realities.
