Work Vision of Escaflowne , declined on many supports, is held within a complex world revealed with the liking of the various components. It introduces a certain number of concepts and objects and makes discover a complex and varied world which it is advisable to present.

A little vocabulary

Escaflowne

Escaflowne is a legendary guymelef .

In the series: Escaflowne was built by legendary the Hispano Suiza. It was a long time in sleep in the sanctuary of the kingdom of Fanelia , and Van Fanel activates it with the stone resulting from the heart of the dragon at the commencement of the series, called " Drag energist".

In film: It is " réveillé" when Hitomi is found téléportée on Gaïa, in its cockpit.

Gaïa

Gaïa is the planet on which Hitomi is found téléportée, and where proceed the majority of the adventures of the various versions of the history (series, manga, cartoon film). It is about a planet which resembles " much; Terre" , (size, climate…) in fact, it sagit of " Ground jumelle" although the continents and countries are different. The inhabitants of Gaïa see " Terre" , but not the reverse, according to the will of the Telamones of the Earth, they wished a new world not to repeat same the errors.

Guymelef

a Guymelef is a kind of giant armor (a " Matched "). It has a special cockpit for its piloting (the arms and legs of the pilot seem connected mechanically and directly to those of the armor)

The moon of the illusions

It is about the name which the inhabitants of Gaïa give to " Terre"

In the series: Ground and Lune appear according to phases, of day like night, (a little like the Moon for us). The legends of Gaïa want that those which come from the Moon of the illusions would carry misfortune.

In film: the appearance of our planet and our Moon seems related to the alarm clock of Escaflowne.

In the manga: From the point of view of Gaïa , our planet appears or disappears from the sky according to the moments. It is not known that it is acted in fact of an inhabited planet and she is thus regarded as the simple moon: of or its nickname " The moon of the illusion".

Melef

A Melef is a kind of armor of combat, smaller (and thus more current) than the guymelefs . It would seem that they are reserved to the less graded soldiers.

Geopolitical situation of Gaïa

Fanelia

Fanelia is the kingdom whose Van Fanel is the crown prince. Its capital bears the same name.

It is a forest zone and mountainous, called " country of the dragons" because of the presence of these mythical animals in the surroundings.

This country saw mainly agriculture. Its drills are of all beauties, and very famous on Gaia.

The habit of this country wants that the crown prince must kill a dragon in singular combat and to take its " to him; cœur" , a kind of stone pink, to take the throne and to become king. (This stone is the principal fuel of the guymelefs also called Drag' Energist)

Astria

Leader: King Aston d' Astria

King Aston has two alive girls: Mirana and Elise (Marlene was oldest, but unfortunately deceased of disease)

Allen shezar makes party of the knights of this kingdom. It is a knight Celeste, the most rank.

Its capital is Palas, a port city, and saw mainly products of the sea.

Zaïbacker

Zaïbacker is an empire having a technology seemingly close to our " era industrielle" , giant robots being able to make itself invisible. Moreover, this empire, saw mainly industry and metallurgy.

If the people of Zaïbacker are, at the time of the history, most powerful of Gaïa, it was, at the origin, one of weakest. These people live besides in misery until the arrival of a man originating in the moon of the illusions which says to be called Isaac. That goes then, thanks to its knowledge, to bring to these people the means of leaving misery and of going up very quickly in power.

Dilandau makes party of their army, under the orders of Folken Fanel.

These Dōjinshi was published with the own account of Nobuteru Yūki (sold by this last in person with the comiket) They are of number very limited, and very rare, therefore inevitably expensive.

The FANBOOK of the series comprises crayonnées very rare the, visible one that in this dōjinshi . (There are some outlines in the Artbook " Perfect Illustrations") Like all the dōga / genga key realized by Nobuteru Yūki for the credits of beginning and end.

In the FANBOOK 2, we have all the dōga key that Nobuteru Yūki drew for film, plus crayonnés of stages between the chara-design of the series and that of film (visible only in this work).

Pendentive of Hitomi

There exist two editions, 1st was created by the official fanclub of Escaflowne: in simple pink quartz and gilded chain.
the second version, is the version jewelry, carried out as a ametist, (pink dark) chain out of gold 18 carat, the whole in a écrain engraved " Sunrise" and " Energist Pendent"

There exist two editions, 1st is " disponible" in the box collector limited Video games PSX.
the second is an edition in the real face of taro divinatoire, 22cm height. (the edition for the video game was carried out in the face of charts to play)
